Arts Leading Learning Model
Bringing the arts to education.
The Arts Leading Learning Model, (ALLM) is an adapted arts integration model based on the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts' Changing Education Through the Arts, (CETA) in partnership with Desert Harbor Elementary School in Peoria, AZ. The model utilizes the arts as the driving force for curriculum development for school-wide implementation. The successful implementation of ALLM is based on three factors:
- All Desert Harbor teachers receive participatory workshops from Kennedy Center trained workshop artists.
- All Desert Harbor teachers receive classroom-modeling experiences with their selected art strategies in the classroom with Kennedy Center workshop artists.
- All participating Desert Harbor teachers receive coaching and mentoring from a Desert Harbor Art Integration Coach for sustainability and collegial support scholarship.
Each year, ASU Gammage awards a scholarship to a Herberger College of the Arts student in the area of theater or dance. The scholarship includes access to ASU Gammage performances as well as career mentoring and networking opportunities with touring performing artists and Gammage staff.
